Charles Dodgson, an Oxford don who specialized in Mathematics and stuttered except when speaking to children, wrote this odd and charming fantasy under the name of Lewis Carroll in 1865. It is surely the most enduring thing he ever wrote. Even though, in his own field, he was quite well respected and published – on complicated math questions.
