Though in the schema of things there may be both good and evil angels, only the good ones exist in Gladys Boalt’s Creation. Boalt angels are not particularly Old Testament, no fiery swords, no multi-visaged aspects, each has two wings, not the six and four of the Biblical Seraphim and Cherubs. They don’t blow trumpets and bring down the world. Rather, they’re the kindly guardians we all should have, for moments of stress and doubt, “to light and guard, to rule and guide.”
