He was supposed to make this statue to honor the Duke of Milan. Its size complicated the project (22 feet high) and by the time Leonardo figured it all out, a war was on and the horse was never cast, not until a year or two ago, when Gladys Boalt watched the horse being cast in bronze at an art foundry in New York State.
